Hello, I just want to ask if it is true that birth control pills can prevent some kind of cancer. I have read a magazine which says that by frequent using of birth control pills can help a woman from preventing cancer. How true is this? Please let me know. Thanks!

Hii Marga

Actually, it's wrong to say that birth control pills or contraceptives can prevent cancer. It actually trigger cancer growth of give higher risk to cancer to a person using it.

Yes, somehow using contraceptive pills can help the prevention of ovarian cancer. But only ovarian cancer but on the other hand higher risk of breast cancer, cervical and liver cancer can also be increased by using birth contaceptive pills. So, I guess, if there is a positive result, there is also some negative result in using birth control pills.

It's only an ovarian cancer that can be prevented using birth control pill. But rather than that, their is no more cancer thatcan be prevented by birth control pill.

Yes, birth control pills can sometimes prevent the growth of ovarian cancer. But it doesn't mean that it can treat ovarian or any other form of cancer.
