Kitchen Cabinet Skin Care
Skin care products are big business with some creams and masques costing megabucks. That's nice for the wallets of the CEOs of major cosmetics companies and their investors, but not so nice for you. Considering that all women love to pamper their skin, but not all women are rich, what's a poor girl to do? The answer may be hiding in your refrigerator or pantry.
Ancient Beauty Secrets
In ancient times, women didn't have department store cosmetics counters, but they knew the beauty secrets of the everyday products of their times. Not much has changed since then and foods like honey, oatmeal, and eggs are still wonderful beauty aids, each with their own special skin-loving properties. Here we list just a few recipes for homemade skin products with items you probably already have in your kitchen.

Cucumbers have natural astringent to tighten pores. Egg whites clarify the skin, and the other ingredients add moisture, leaving your skin baby-soft.

*1 egg white
*2 T. mayonnaise
*1/2 cup of olive oil
Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Apply and tissue off, morning and evening.

*1 t. honey
*A few drops of orange juice
Mix well. Apply to face, no need to avoid the eye area, and leave to sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Yolks provide important amino acids, are rich in protein, and give you a wonderful toning effect while filling in fine lines. Sugar helps to exfoliate any dead skin cells to leave you fresh and glowing.
*2 egg yolks
*1 t. sugar
Beat egg yolks about 15 minutes until light in color and thick as whipped cream. Add sugar gradually to beaten yolks. Apply to face, leave to sit for 25 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
