TV Dinners

do tv dinners really have zero nutritional value? are they really that bad?

LaRa

TV dinners need to be preserved so they are typically loaded in salt and transfat which is very bad for your heart! Avoid eating these types of food if you can!

some of these are fortified with vitamins and they do contain sources of energy but they should not be eaten everyday.

there are "healthy brands" like lean cuisine or healthy options. they still contain preservatives, but lesser than the normal TV dinners

Tori

yeah, but foods like lean cuisine and other brands still contain hydrogenated fat (stuff they use to preserve the taste) this is high in cholesterol and tv dinners are some of the reasons why lots of Americans got fat :(

I only do lean cuisine when I am too tired and too hungry to care. I personally prefer finding a diner rather than eat TV dinner.

lean cuisine is expensive. actually most of these TV dinners are expensive. if you dont have time to cook a healthy meal then perhaps a simple salad will do...

for me, TV dinners are equivalent to junk food :(

how about pizza? is that as bad as tv diners?

iZZy

they taste horrible. i would rather have a meal at McDonald's or Burger King rather than TV dinner... even if they are both unhealthy, at least the fast food wasnt made three months or a year ago... eww!

they're not so bad izzy. just make sure you buy in a store where there stocks sell fast. at least you know it hasn't been there for a month or so, although that's not a guarantee. :)
