1. Heart Disease
2. Cancer
3. Stroke
4. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
5. Alzheimer's

Tell me what you think!

Cindy_FMF

COCPD? What is it? Sounds nasty! Pulmonary so lungs right? what type of cancer is most prevalent in women? is it breast cancer?

Patricia_Marie

Hmm...we live in a pretty stressful environment which is probably why heart disease is on top...and we live longer than males too which is why we are more susceptible to Alzheimers

kim_vl

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease refers to emphysema and chronic bronchitis. You get this from smoking. Yep for the cancer its breast then cervical that kills women.

amybrown

Wow, heart disease is #1...what's for the guys?

Kristy_645

i think its the same. heart disease is related to stress and its no wonder its the #1 killer as women are so stressed these days!

Suzie246

what about brest cancer?

audrey_s

#3 is a shocker, but considering the number of women who smoke, then I guess the numbers are true!

smexy_linda

I am actually surprised with #3 too. I mean I thought it would be pregnancy related or something...

HeleneFischer

this is bad, especially the copd as i have noticed that more and more women smoke nowadays.

mITCH

stroke??? i thought men were more susceptible than women?

CaRRie

i always thought breast cancer would top this list, not heart disease! but i would imagine this is true since lots of women are obese or do not exercise. lots of women also have high blood pressure which contributes to heart disease.

giselle_m

the Alzheimer's is because women have a higher life expectancy than men.

used to smoke but quit... and i thank the Lord everyday for giving me the strength!

brittney

Aside from breast cancer, what other cancers are women most prone to?

linda_987

Yes, this list came as a surprise to me because I always thought that breast cancer was the no 1 killer. I guess heart disease makes sense considering that lots of women are obese, stressed, smoke and all the other factors that contribute to it. Its just that breast cancer is over emphasised which is why I thought it was the no1 killer.

Fiona

Its the same with the guys. The No. 1 killer for guys is heart disease too. I guess this is because of lifestyle choices.
