I used to have asthma and they prescribed prednizone for me. I did not gain weight though. |

from what i know about this, the steroids are supposed to help the sacs inside the lungs expand faster so that your mom can breath easier. |

weight gain is one of the side effects but for me it outweighs the benefits. my nephew is asthmatic too and has undergone prednisone. |

I just think that its not a good side effect considering that she is already in her 60's. |
