They said that a gl of red wine reduces the risk of heart disease. is this just hype or is there truth in this? What do you think?

Yes this is so true. This is one of the reasons why the French have lower heart disease cases than Americans even though they consume more high cholesterol foods. A glass a day is good, but don't over indulge or you could end up in AA instead! ;P

Red wine has resveratrol(?) that helps prevent heart disease. They've been studying it for decades and you can google resveratrol to find out more!

Salute!

Estelle

Yep! the internet is a mine of info on resveratrol!

IcyAnn

Nice but consume wisely!

Rosemarie

This is cool. Reserveratrol is found in the skin of grapes! So you can eat grapes too if you dont like red wine!

hannah256

can reservatrol be present in white wine?

Faith

there is resveratrol in white wine but they are significantly lower! so red wine it is!

Kampai!

Darla

I also like white better! but red it is! Salute!

I saw in TV that there are spas in europe that have grape skin treatments for the skin... can skin application also help with skin problems like wrinkles?

lorie

yeah I read somewhere that red wine lowers the chances of heart disease. but its not like you drink too much. not sure but i think a glass a day or even less.

I think there are more benefits if you drink the red wine rather than slather grape skin all over your body. When you drink, it goes directly to the bloodstream. More efficient that way! Cheers!

Im with Jennifer... Its also less expensive to buy a good bottle of Red rather than to go to a spa that does this...
