is a mastectomy the only way to stop breast cancer?
It will stop the cancer from spreading, so its sort of a preventive procedure.
If the cancer cells are still in the breast tissue then a mastectomy is necessary.
but if there is only one breast affected do they only remove one breast?
my sister in law had one breast removed, so yes, if only one breast has the cancer cells then they only remove that.
there's also chemo. i think the doctors will exhaust all those first before removing a breast or both.
Yes, I think a mastectomy is the final option during breast cancer.
but some women still have chemo after a mastectomy...
I just thought that it would be a pity to lose your breasts and then have chemo. but it is still better than not doing anything I guess.
