if a woman has a hysterectomy, will there be menopause?

Alexa_G

yes, you will still experience symptoms.

There are still symptoms even with no uterus since hormones are controlled in the brain not in the uterus :P

Yep. Symptoms are still experienced. The hormones are controlled by the Adrenal Gland in the brain so, even with the uterus gone, there will still be hot flushes and other related symptoms for menopause.

If the ovaries as well as the uterus were taken out then menopause will happen after the surgery, but if one ovary was left, then menopause will happen when its supposed to because the ovaries are still capable of producing hormones.
