my brother is scheduled to undergo a series of dental surgery for his root canal treatment. i am wondering if this has any effect on his overall health?

the anesthesia can have some effects on his other medicines if he is taking any

they might also put him on some pain meds after the surgery that might not compliment or go along with other medications he is currently taking.

otherwise, your brother should be fine after the surgery. im sure his dentist and his physician will sort out the details...

I had a root canal a while back and though I was not under any medication during this time, the anaesthetic they gave me for the dental surgery did make me loopy!!!

I think if you have heart diesease, obesity or diabetes, you need your physicians clearance before you can proceed with dental surgery.
