how long will a herpes or syhpillis infection remain dormant? because I heard that once you catch these std even if they are cured, they stay in the body... but is this true in the first place?

yes they stay in the central nervous system until another episode crops up.

this is so disturbing!!! but you can have unprotected sex right? like what if you get married and want to have kids or something???

I think this is where the immune system plays its part georgina. If you have weak immune system then maybe the virus will resurface.
