The reason is simple. When you put a lot of time into something, it becomes a part of you. You form an emotional bond with it. It doesn't matter if were talking about a relationship, or a dress that you made with your own hands. The more time you spent on it, the less likely you are to throw it away.

You say things have changed. Is there a problem that has surfaced or are you just board and looking to experience something new because its time to grow as a person?

It's because you love the person so much that even if you feel that your relationship isn't working, you still not closing your doors that there is still hope for the two of you. You love the person so much that's why it's hard for you to let go.

I think it's because you have invested a lot of emotions and sacrificis already that's why it's hard for you to let go. You still hoping that there will still solutions to every problem and you want to fix it. But it'll work if the other half or your partner will also do the same thing for you. If you are the only one trying to look for a solution to your problem, will it really won't work. It should always be the two of you.
