up to what age (obviously before menopause) is a woman fertile? is it too late during her 40's?

I asked my gynecologist about this and she said the suitable age for women to get pregnant was early to late 20's coz during our 30's chances of conceiving decreases by 5% each year. also, women who become mothers late - 40's - can give birth to kids with genetic disorders like Down's syndrome.

the body is still developing during our teens and after 35 it will be harder to conceive... so i agree with Janet on this timeframe.

women who get pregnant after 40 have higher chances of giving birth to kids with genetic defects like down's syndrome, so it is very risky and its like a genetic lottery when you get pregnant at this age.
