most common risk is failure. IVF also increases the risk of multiple pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy.
I had a friend who had IVF twice, both unsuccessful.
plus the mental trauma, physical stress and relationship stress can be too much for some couples. so its not just the cost or failure/success rate. there are also the feelings involved.
I agree with gayegail. I would be heartbroken and mentally tired if IVF always failed. I think I would give up soon.
