is it true that wearing high heels while pregnant can cause varicose veins?

varicose veins responds to pressure on the veins of the legs. but i dont know if this can be caused during pregnancy. btw, wearing high heels when pregnant is dangerous...what if you slip!

No that's not true at all. I know a lot of women who, during their pregnancy, still always look good & dressed up at work didn't get varicose. So don't believe it.

Just take good care of your legs. They are one of a woman's best assets. I usually hear my guy friends say "look at those legs" or "nice long legs!"

varicose veins are caused by malfunctioning valves in the veins. so it wont matter if you wear high heels or not. plus, genetics also factor in, so it is highly doubtful that it is because of pregnancy or shoe issues.

pregnancy can trigger the development of varicose veins. As the woman gets heavier, the extra weight will constrict the walls of veins adding more pressure contributing to varicose veins. I dunno about wearing heels though.

it does seem that heels + pregnancy = varicose veins is not entirely true. yes that added weight could be a factor. alright, thank u for the replies.
