Irregular Periods/ Experiencing Difficulty Conseving

I am 23 yrs old, I have been married for 3 years now. My husband and I have been trying for 2 years between deployments to get pregnant. Unfortunately we have been unsuccessful. I have been dealing with irregular periods since day one. When i was younger I use to get my period about 5 times in one year only lasting about 3 days each time. My doctors put me on birth control when i was 17 to help regulate my hormone levels. Once my relationship with my now husband got serious I took my self off of birth control, which was around age 19. After his first deployment we were sent to Germany and where we tried for another year unsuccessfully. Then he deployed again for only 6 months returning last year August. Since then we have been trying for about now 9 month consecutively. I have talked to my health care providers about the irregular periods and they too recommend me being put back on birth control, which contradicts me wanting to have a child. So the next thing they recommend for us is to keep trying until we have been trying for a full year. I have bought stripes to test when I am ovulating but they always come back negative even though I test myself every morning. We have had 5 miscarriages, yet our doctor tells us I was just testing to close to my menstruation cycle. If there is any help or advise anyone can give me that would be helpful. I am already sick of the unprofessional-ism in our medical care they provide for us.
