Injectable Birth Control

Has anybody tried the injectable form of birth control? is it OK? please share your thoughts!

No experience here, but from what i got, they are ok. YOu only need a shot every three months. the hormones prevent ovulation, so it is an effective form of contraceptive.

An example is Depo Provera. Its a hormone that prevents preganacy for up to 12 weeks. possible side effects: periods become irregular or may stop while on the drug. can cause headaches and skin problems. sometimes it takes up to a year for the period to return after stopping.

so wont it affect fertility then?

Depo increases risk of osteoporosis and some women actually gained weight. aside from the missing periods, it can take up to 6 months for the drug to completely leave the body. I hope this is only for Depo and not the other injectibles too?
