Broken condom and on the pill

What are my chances of getting pregnant from a broken condom? I'm on the pill for this very reason,as a backup to a condom breaking. Will I be ok, or do I run the risk of getting pregnant?

If you take birth control pills religiously, ie everyday without missing one, then you should be just fine, even with the broken condom.

However, if you are worried, and it has been less than 72 hours, go to a nearby clinic and ask for the morning after pill which is effective in preventing pregnancy up to 72 hours after sexual intercourse. This is not the abortion pill, but a contraceptive called Plan B.

Depending on your birth control pills, you may be able to take two of them at the same time, as a morning after pill. Ask your doctor if your pill allows you to do this safely.

Essentially the morning after pill or plan B is simply a higher dosage of hormones that are found in your birth control pills, so it is not a different drug
