how'd you know that a person is clinically depressed? what are its symptoms and what is its cure?

Some symptoms:

* Feelings of guilt, hopelessness and worthlessness
* Suicidal thoughts or recurrent thoughts of death
* Sleep disturbance (sleeping more or sleeping less)
* Appetite and weight changes
* Difficulty concentrating
* Lack of energy and fatigue

Depending on the severity, some doctors recommend therapy while others prescribe medication too.

some people have to undergo therapy others are put on antidepressants and other forms of mediciation to handle their depression.

I have suffered lot and took medications at anti-depressants-drugs.com.

I believe the birth control pill caused my depression, since I quit things are getting better. I did have feelings of hoplessness, lack of energy, lack of interest in things I loved, sadness and sudden extreme mood changes and suicidal thoughts that really scared me. I thought I was going crazy. I was taking Ortho Tri-Cyclin Lo then switched to Alesse and my symptoms got better, but since I quit the pill altogether I haven't had any of the symptoms.
