Hi!! New to the forums!! Wondered if anyone has any advice. Just got back from the GYN and had my first Bone Density Test. I am 45 years old and haven't had a period in 1 year and 2 months. Dr. told me I was in menopause and she brought up HRT. I have NO symptoms of menopause (no night sweats, or anything!!) so HRT never entered my mind. She said because of my young age, I should consider doing hormone replacement therapy. She said because I have no menopause symptoms I am a woman who can do HRT or not, it was up to me. I have no idea what to do or where to find info on if I should do HRT or not bother!!! Does anyone have any advice?? Thanks so much!!!

I have been going through early menopause for about a year. When I was first diagnosed, they put me on HRT. Within three days, I felt like I wanted to come out of my skin. I experienced levels of depression I hadn't experienced since puberty. I recommend trying natural remedies prior to jumping into HRT.

I know everyone seems to be against HRT these days, but I started it in my late forties and for me it worked very well. I found that with the early menopause I was living in a constant state of PMT, but PMT drifted away away like a black cloud after I started the HRT, so I stayed with it. I guess if you don't have any such symptoms, you may not need HRT?
