yeah, fell asleep during health class too but my first time was with my bf who was also a virgin then, so i did not thnk about it too much.

teens get std because they still cannot fathom the responsibility or consequences of having unprotected sex! in otherwords, they still have not grown up.

they probably think they wont catch anything the first few times. kids can be so naive at times.

When I was a teen I used to think I knew it all, even if i felt naive and unsure most of the time. It was corny to be whiny and weak right, coz that's just uncool!

Now that I've grown up, it seems that even if teens are no longer as naive as we were, they still wind up getting pregnant or having STD even with all the sex ed classes, media exposure and internet access these kids have today!

I guess it goes back to teens pretending to be cool again...

It wasnt so long ago that I was a teenager myself and yes, peer pressure is one of the factors why teenagers have sex in the first place. Even with all the info on STD, some teens are either too embarassed to ask about/buy protection or it was the last thing on their minds. n.n

yeah at high school the last thing in your mind is these sexually transmitted disease. getting laid at prom night is the only thing. prolly exaggeration, yet some truth in it.
