if you are on the 28 day cycle then the 14th day before your next cycle would be best. the ovulation period is about two days and the egg needs to be fertilized within 12 hours before it starts degenerating...

its best to have sex during this time since you cant exactly tell when the egg will be released. sperm can survive for two days in the uterus so having sex during the 14th-16th day can increase chances of getting pregnant :)

so what happens if it gets fertilized?
