how dirty is blood from menstruation???

Was wondering, how dirty is the blood that comes out during our periods? My guy we sometimes do it during my period. No condoms. We're clean. I'm just concerned that he might get his "thing" infected. What's the likelihood of this happening?

menstrual blood is not dirty. its just like any other blood that you can find in your body, it is just darker because unlike the blood in your veins, it does not flow as easily. menstrual blood is also darker because it contains the lining of your uterus.

however, if you have std, then you should not be having sex without condoms as menstrual blood can contain the std bacteria/virus in it and you pass it on to him

its just your blood and some of your cells...how can it be dirty?

it smells when it gets exposed to air plus sanitary napkins and tampons harbor some bacteria hence the stench when you change...

BTW, doing it on your period can lessen your cramps especially when you hit the big O... :D

this question is quite common especially since blood turns to darken as the period slows down...

personally, unless your blood (including menstrual) has std, then it is not dirty :D

the stench comes from when the blood is exposed to oxygen. just like urine menstrual blood has no smell but when it comes to contact with oxygen and bacteria it begins to stink.
