you don't have to take ur temp vaginally u can take it orally. Although taking ur temp alone isnt very effective that only tells you that you've alrady ovulated so its too late to prevent pregnancy. Combine it with what's called charting-you also have to check the consistency of ur cervical fluid (if its stretchy u are ovulating or are about to). But sperm can survive in the fluid for up to 5 days, so its best to abstain or use use back-up the day of ovulation and the 5 days before.
I haven't tried this yet, about to stop taking the pill(causing way too many problems). I will be charting and using condoms when I quit the pill. I read this book about it called Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Dr. Toni Weschler.
Sounds like it sure beats the pill, can't wait to have cervical fluid again lol.
