I am in my second month of charting BBT after stopping the birth control pill. I have been on the pill for 18 years (minus the three pregnancies). The first month, I had the increase in BBT at ovulation, and the temperature remained increased for the duration of the month. Now, the second month, my temperature did rise at what I think was ovulation, but dropped and has stayed low (low meaning the temp range of preovulation). I have read that illness can cause variations. I am suffering from pharyngitis right now...but no fever. I would expect temp to be abnormally high during illness, not low. Any thoughts that might explain the variation in my BBT this second month? I'm new to this natural contraception method, and a bit skeptical b/c it seems my BBT is not acting like the norm. Due to just stopping pill? Due to illness? reply
