why is my period out of wack lately?

I had my second child oct 22 of 2008. I had the normal bleeding after delivery followed by my period. I had my 6 week check up from my delievry date and i was not pregnant. We have had intercourse but used a condom and the pull out method at the same time. I have been excercising more as well. Iam sleepy alot more but i think that is because i get up with my little one. is it normal to have late periods after giving birth recently?
