Hi! I had a non-hormonal IUD removed 3 months after insertion, due to virtually ongoing spotting type bleeding. My last proper period was on 21 July, 10 days later on 1 August, l had a 2 day bleed and since then nothing. The IUD was removed on 17 August.
What I'd like to know is whether or not there is an adjustment time frame, as haven't been able to find any information of this nature on the IUD sites. Should, would or could the IUD removal have caused a hormonal imbalance? Is this late period normal?
Strictly speaking I have gone 35 days now without a period. My cycle is not usually exact, but am generally about 24 days between periods. (At the most 28 days.)
I am 44, so the question of menopause has been suggested, but am not too inclined to think this is the case, as my periods haven't shown any indication of tapering off, nor have I experienced any usual menopausal symptoms.
Life has been pretty stressful the last while, but this has never affected my period in the past and have experienced more stressful times than at present.
If anyone has experienced something similar, would appreciate hearing from them.
