I had Norplant inserted back in 1992 after the birth of my son. At the time I was on Medicaid. However, after the 5 years was up, I found out that I would have to pay out of pocket to have them removed because I no longer received Medicaid. Since I cannot afford the cost of removal, I still have them in. They're STILL working and I've had no complications or side affects whatsoever, even after 14 years!!! I would definitely use Norplant again if the method were still being used and if I could afford it.

[color=Pink][/color]Ok I have a question about the Norplant, I had it inserted in 1996 and here it is 2006 and I still have not had it removed . Any one know if there are any serious side affects when you dont have it removed?

I have no idea, but i am in the same boat as you are.. except i had mine inserted in the beginning of 1993 and still have it in.. i will say this, the fan marks have fallen and are now by my elbow and now that arm is starting to give me plenty of problems. as to movement and just the use of the arm.. please let me know if you find out any side affects of this.

I HAD MINE DONE JULY 93 AND HERE IT IS JANUARY 2009 AND I STILL HAVE IT ! HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HAVE IT REMOVED ?
