Lately i have been suffering from terrible hot flashes. I wake up in the middle of the night and i'm completely soaked. In the middle of the day, when I'm at work, all of a sudden I will feel nauseated and sweaty, and I have to run out of the room so no one notices me! I am perimenopausal, and i guess this is just what life is like, but i am so uncomfortable and embarrassed. Any home remedies or cures for these sweats?..

Hi, I see it's been awhile since you wrote on here, so I don't know if you will be seeing this response or not. I am peripausal and found a few things that were helpful for a couple years anyway: Walmart (Equate brand) makes a suppliment called "estroplus". It can really help with mood-swings/irritability (the black cohosh helps: you can even buy just the herb for this also) and helps the hot flashes to be less troublesome. Try also- from your health food store- a hormone creme. Only be sure it says "USP progesterone" in the ingredients. The one I buy is 16$ a bottle, but it helps in every area of the menopausal side effects. I hope you see this for some help. Lately, I had to stop taking them for awhile Because they were no longer effective for me, but they did work for over 2 years. I hope this info helps someone! ::)

I used all that stuff, the progesterone cream packets, Estroven and it did NOTHING much 4 me. I am on a Estroven patch now called Climara and it work 100% for hot flashes and I just feel more like my premeno self again, thank God, I thought I was about to lose my mind.....good ole menopause....it really sux!

Just wanted to let you know that I also was suffering from severe hot flashes and night sweats. I didn't have the mood swings and irritability too much, though. About 6 months ago, a therapist recommended Black Cohosh. I started using it and got total relief. I was elated. However, I must tell you that lately I have been noticing the hot flashes and night sweats gradually returning. I am not quite sure what my next step will be, but I wanted to let you know that Black Cohosh worked great for 6 months. Good luck!
